Item Reviewed Bloodfire by Helen Harper. I want to dislike Corrigan because he might destoy an entire pack only for harboring a human. It's like the merry-go-round of UF. So, you know when you have a stack of books to read that are all really good books, but for some reason your brain just won't accept those books so you start reading every random thing that catches your eye? I remember I liked it a lot, so I thought why the heck not. And remember, everyone in her pack thinks their lives depend on her ability to not attract attention. I was really enjoying it, I thought it was cute, it had me captivated and laughing out loud at times. The only time I felt slightly bored was when view spoiler [ Mack went to the otherworld. Bllodfire was also incredibly happy that there was no love triangle because it could have been so easy to add one. I remember I liked it a lot, so I thought why the heck not. The Brethren, the 'Gestapo' of the Were community, will kill them all if Mack is discovered.
Blood Destiny Series
The story is original and interesting enough to keep you turning pages only to see what happens next and heln discover Mack's secrets. Bloodfire (Blood Destiny, book 1) by Helen Harper
Rating - 4 stars. Bloodfire was an interesting and unique book in bloodcire paranormal shifter genre. It was a slow moving plot and I didn't ever feel connected to any of the characters.
This shows a lot of promise, though it falls short of 4 stars for me because there are a few annoying grammatical errors mostly missing or repeated words that shows it could have done with one final edit and I find the main character is a little reckless for no particularly good reason view spoiler [I know she felt that she couldn't trust the Brethren and she didn't want to blkodfire the Pack any more than she had, plus she does have some pretty good combat skills for a mere "human", but knowingly walking in to what you perceive is a suicide mission without first weighing up ALL your options or even doing more than a wikipedia search on your enemy is just plain dumb and I really dislike yarper characters hide spoiler ].
Unfortunately Corrigan, the green-eyed muscle-bound Lord Alpha of the Brethren, doesn't let much slip by him She wanted to become a shape-shifter, but the transformation did not work when she nelen bitten. Review: Bloodfire (Blood Destiny, #1) by Helen Harper
As the series keep going even more supernatural beings are introduced. Put that all together, top it off with a large dollop of Special Snowflake-ism, and the result is that I'm just not interested in reading any more about Mack and her Issues. And this necessitates that Mack remain as inconspicuous as possible to avoid being detected as a human bloidfire in the midst of her grieving.
Some of the Brethren that we get to know is actually quite nice too.
The reviews will not be biased by this.
